ALL-CITY AUDITIONS 2008

"What a great day today was! I thought the program seemed flawless, organized and relaxed. The volunteers were so supportive and helpful. Having Terry to video was awesome. Anyway, I felt great when I left and I thank you all for your hard work to make it happen for the members. Maybe now you can all take a deep breath. I know I am and I only had to work for 3 minutes."

Katherine Forbes , AASD member since 2002

AUDITION INFORMATION:

  • ARRIVE EARLY TO YOUR AUDITION: On the day of your audition, YOU MUST ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED TIME. We tend to run early, and will skip over your time if you are not there.
  • PRESENT TWO CONTRASTING PIECES: Auditors have requested two contrasting pieces of your choice. The 2nd piece may be 16 - 32 bars of a song.
  • SINGERS: No recorded music. An accompanist will be provided so please bring sheet music in the proper key and neatly prepared for the accompanist, in a 1 to 1 1/2inch three-ring binder in non-glare plastic sheet covers. This is the best way to assure the easiest playing of your music. Help your accompanist help YOU. Should you choose to do your monologue first, please also bring a copy of your monologue for the accompanist to look at along with the sheet music so he’s prepared as to when to start the intro for your song.
  • AUDITION TIME LIMITS: The time will start as soon as you start your first piece. The following time limits are STRICTLY enforced.
  • Non-Singing Actors (Equity And Non-Equity) - 2 1/2 Minutes
  • Singing Actors - 3 Minutes
  • Announce your name ONLY, not the names of your pieces. That information will be printed in the program handed out to the auditors at the start of the auditions.
  • After the auditions, mailing information for all auditors will be made available on the AASD website.

NOTE: There will NOT be a separate "All Youth" time slot this year. Instead our professional level youth members will be mixed in with our professional adult members.
