AASD's Board of Directors is composed of individuals from the San Diego acting community. Their guidance and recommendations help direct the course of the organization.

BOARD CHAIRPERSON - JENNI PRISK
Award-winning motivational speaker, communications coach and trainer www.Prisk.com. A native of New Zealand, she holds a Diploma in Adult Teaching and is qualified as a Human Relations and Communications Instructor for the New Zealand Marriage Guidance Council. She also has a Diploma in Speech and Drama from Trinity College of London England. Associate Member of Vistage, an International Community of Chief Executives; member of the National American Society for Training and Development (ASTD); and the Actors Alliance of San Diego. writes a weekly theatre column, In The Wings, for San Diego TheatreScene http://www.sdtheatre.com/. SECRETARY - JONATHAN DUNN-RANKIN
Professional Actor; Has appeared in ten plays at The Old Globe, winning three Atlas Awards for outstanding performances and numerous other productions at Diversionary Theatre, Lamb’s Players, and North Coast Repertory Theatre; Taught Journalism at San Diego State as well as City and Grossmont Colleges; Worked as a reporter and anchor at KFMB-TV, Channel 8; Became a national representative for AFTRA in 1986; Served five terms as president of the Diversionary board.

MEMBER AT LARGE - SYLVIA ENRIQUE
Ms. Enrique appreciates the opportunity to serve on the AASD Board, being a member who has seen how much work goes into creating programs specifically designed for San Diego artists and having benefitted from those programs available to all membership. She has variegated roots in community service, having served on the Boards of El Centro Cultural de La Raza (founding member), Teatro Mascara Magica, Common Ground, and Southwest Voter Registration Project (Southern California); an Associate Artist with ion Theatre, studying at USD/UCSD, she has danced, now concentrates on acting on San Diego stages, has toured with the La Jolla Playhouse POP program and El Teatro Campesino, and has had the opportunity to work in film. She hopes to contribute to the AASD mission to serve our performing community.

Professional Actor; Over 22 years of executive-level administrative experience; Actor B.A., Theatre and Communications, Ashland College, Ohio.

MEMBER AT LARGE - MARC OVERTON
In a 40-year career that has repeatedly crossed disciplinary boundaries, Marcus Overton has been an actor, stage director (for both theatre and opera), teacher ande coach, as well an internationally-respected arts administrator working at the highest levels of the profession. In recent years, he has also made a mark in both radio and television, particularly in a 15-year association with the South Carolina public broadcasting network, for which he has produced and hosted awasrd-winning radio shows and an Emmy Award wining series of television broadcasts.
A graduate of Northwestern University's theatre-training program where he was a student of Alvina Krause, he made his professional debut in the title role of RICHARD III at Atlanta's Southeastern Shakespeare Festival. What was intended to be a temporary detour into arts management in 1966 turned into a 30-year career in arts management, inluding top positions at Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Ravinia Festival, as well as the post of Senior Manager for Performing Arts at the Smithsonian Institution and as general manager of Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston SC.

A resident of San Diego since 1997, he has directed for AASD's OnBook/OnStage series, and for the Carlsbad Playreaders. For the Renaissance Theatre, he appeared as Peter in ZOO STORY, as Louka in Moonlight at the Avo's ARMS AND THE MAN, and as Creon in OEDIPUS REX in the Greek Play series at 6th @ Penn (for which he also directed its first fully-staged production, Euripides' HIPPOLYTUS.) At present, he is Artistic Administrator for La Jolla Music Society.

MEMBER AT LARGE - ERIC POPPICK

Eric moved to San Diego in 2006 after spending thirty years in Los Angeles, working as an actor and director for stage, television and film  His local acting credits include: Golden Boy, Four Dogs and a Bone. New Village Arts, The History Boys, Cygnet Theatre, Morning’s at Seven, North Coast Repertory Theatre, One for the Road, Lyceum Theatre.
Elsewhere:  Awake and Sing!, Scapino, Rhinoceros, Odyssey Theatre; Don’t Drink the Water, Glendale Center Theatre.
He has directed two productions for Scripps Ranch Theatre, Play it Again, Sam and Over the River and Through the Woods.  Film and TV roles include:  Basic Instinct, Mouse Hunt, Single White Female, Hero (with Dustin Hoffman), Seinfeld, Columbo, Curb Your Enthusiasm, NYPD Blue, L.A. Law, General Hospital, The Young & The Restless.  Eric has a BFA in Acting from Boston University and an MA in Directing from The State University of New York.
