WHAT IS AASD? The Actors Alliance of San Diego is organized for the advancement, education, and exposure of the San Diego theatre artist and to enhance the good of the community through the medium of theatre.
IS AASD A TALENT AGENCY? No. AASD is a non-profit membership-based service organization. We act as a clearinghouse for information pertaining to the San Diego acting community.
IS AASD FOR ACTORS ONLY? No. There are benefits and services for arts supporters, directors, playwrights, and production support staff as well as actors.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN AASD? Only members can take advantage of the organization’s many benefits, programs, and services.
I'M JUST GETTING STARTED IN ACTING. WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST? Joining AASD is a good place to start! Our experienced staff of working actors can walk you through the steps and advise you as to which of the organization’s many benefits, programs, and services can aid you in the process.
HOW DO I JOIN AASD? Anyone nine years of age and above can join simply by filling out our on-line AASD Membership Form and submit with payment (using a Visa or MasterCard ONLY) for the appropriate type of membership.
DO YOU HAVE OFFICE HOURS? Not at this time. However, most of the organization's benefits, programs, and services can be utilized online and the staff can always be reached via the phone or email.
CAN ALL AASD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE ALL-CITY AUDITIONS? No. Only those members who meet this program’s submission qualifications are eligible to participate.
I DID THE ALL-CITY AUDITIONS LAST YEAR? DO I NEED TO DO THEM AGAIN? It is a good idea to audition every year if possible as it provides the opportunity for the auditors to see your growth and gives you the chance to show them your range by performing new and different material.
I HAVE SOME OLD THEATRE BOOKS. DOES AASD WANT THEM? We no longer have a resource library. In 2009 we donated it to V.A.P.A - the visual and performing arts organization. They are more than happy to take further donations. |
