• 3 hour classes • put up 4-5 scenes each week- each given 20-30 minute critique. • scenes must be NO LONGER THAN 8 minutes! • actors will prepare and rehearse scenes ON THEIR OWN… to be prepared to perform on the date they are given
THE CRITIQUES WILL point out what techniques actors need to work on for future (or in an acting class) • Workshop will EXPLORE different types of techniques to work on, THROUGH issues that come up through the scene work: • storytelling / stakes/ reversals • listening / reactions/ creative delay • wounds, flaws, secrets, archetypes • movement / articulation / accents • timing, rhythm
THE CLASS STRUCTURE - everyone will learn through performing and observing others: • WEEK ONE - assign scenes to EVERYONE -pick scenes from modern FILMS or TV shows - students should come prepared with scene ideas. and partners if possible • LOCK DOWN DATES FOR ALL SCENES • get to know everyone's hopes, dreams and GOALS. ** Everyone must make a statement of intention/commitment on day one: What is your GOAL with this class? • Remaining time, have volunteers perform monologues or scenes.
• WEEK TWO - 5 scenes go up - 20-30 minute critique after each scene • WEEK THREE - 5 scenes go up - 20-30 minute critique after each scene • WEEK FOUR - 5 scenes go up - 20-30 minute critique after each scene • WEEK FIVE - 5 scenes go up - 20-30 minute critique after each scene • WEEK SIX - RE-DO of scenes or repeat certain actors in new scenes
